Each year, new movies come out that either impress at all of the awards shows, or simply tank. Kids’ movies are often incredible, or downright awful. But hey, as long as the kids are happy… right?? 2020 is the year of many things, one of those being- epic films. We’ve decided to round out the top new films set to debut in 2020. The Best New Kids’ Films Of 2020- Plus A Fun Movie Treat!
Whether you have tots or tweens, one of these new feature films will blow your kids’ socks off. This year includes many family-friendly movies, as well as sequels and films in CGI. Let’s check out the top contenders!
1.Doolittle: On January 17th, 2020 Doolittle premieres! Dr. Doolittle, the vet who communicates with animals, is back and better than ever. Robert Downey Jr. plays the famed doctor himself. Famous Hollywood starlets such as Selena Gomez, Octavia Spencer, Emma Thompson, and Jon Cena lend their voices to various animals. CGI makes these animals look as real as ever…who else feels like they’re staring at a real polar bear??
2.Onward: Disney’s 1st film of the year is produced with Pixar and is entitled Onward. The plot follows two elf brothers who set out to find magic in the world. Chris Pratt and Tom Holland play Ian and Barley Lightfoot. This fantasy film will be released in early March of this year.
3.Mulan: The remake of Disney films in CGI continues…hello, Mulan! Step over Lion King, Aladdin, and Dumbo, Mulan has arrived. This beloved classic follows the same plotline as the original, yet this time Mulan is played by a human: Liu Yifei. Look out for this soon-to-be box office sellout toward the end of March.
A Fun Movie Treat:
Marshmallow Chocolate Popcorn
Ingredients:
- 1 bag microwavable popcorn, popped
- Pacoca, crushed
- ⅔ cup semisweet chocolate, melted
- ½ cup mini marshmallows
Preparation:
- Mix the popcorn with the crushed Pacoca
- Add the melted chocolate and stir until the popcorn is fully coated
- Add the marshmallows and mix
- Enjoy!
