1)Movies: Who doesn’t love a good movie or TV show… right? There’s no better day than a rainy day to curl up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and your favorite blanket. Choose a family favorite or opt for the new release list- whatever you choose, make sure it’s engaging (and appropriate) for all of the kids. Turn your living room into a movie theater with blackout shades, surround sound speakers and buttery popcorn.
2)Games: Puzzles, board games, and charades are all good activities to get a rainy day party started on the right foot. Bring back classics like Monopoly and Checkers and teach the little ones the rules. Puzzles are a great activity for big families- fun and learning all in one…what could be better? While charades are an expressive form of play that will push your kids to think out-of-the-box while giggling with delight.
3)Cooking/Baking: There’s nothing better than cooking and baking alongside mom and dad. Kids love being able to eat their creations, too! Start small with cookies; for the more advanced, give brownies a go. This is a good time to teach your kids to work together and to read the directions carefully- we all know what happens when the measurements aren’t quite right!
